Garden and grounds working party 12 September, 10am till lunchtime

We are having a garden and grounds working party at 10am on Saturday 12 September and all are welcome.

We have an exciting project to start.  Come and plant spring bulbs and plugs for a new wildflower meadow! This promises to refresh the front area of the church grounds as well as being a resource for pollinators. This planting is the first part of a rolling plan for garden and grounds for attaining a Silver Award as part of the A Rocha Ecochurch scheme. The aim is to manage our grounds to maximise wildlife.

But we are not just planting: there’s also lots of trimming, weeding and tidying to do at the front and in the garden.

We will need to be careful to observe social distancing. Wear a facemask if you wish. Bring hand sanitizer. We will take a register of attenders’ names and phone numbers for track and trace purposes.

You will need to bring your own tools and refreshments. Particularly useful will be gardening gloves, trowels, snips, secateurs and hoes.

Please let me know if you are coming so that we can allocate people to teams to get as much done as possible and avoid bunching people up. Email me on jclifton60@gmail.com. See you there!

Radical Presence- Imagining the post- viral age

Dear friends

This is an invitation to join Radical Presence- Imagining the post- viral age. The charity Green Christian has created a series of 7 online conversations to help churches build a more sustainable, just and compassionate world after the pandemic. Click here to find more details and reserve you place to join us.

As we edge towards the loosening of Covid 19 ‘lockdown’, it has become clear that there is no longer a ‘normal’ to go back to. In fact ‘normal’ was the cause of many of our problems. People are expressing a ‘hunger and thirst for righteousness’ with an intensity rarely witnessed before.

Now, we are arranging Radical Presence in the Chelmsford Diocese area starting on 9 June. It is available for Christians of any denomination and it is free. The attached flyer tells you more about course and how you can register to take part. We hope you will join us.

Please feel free to share this with any friends that you have who might be interested; all are very welcome to join us.
